Why Jamie?

Jamie Saxon is an Anderson County native, born and raised in Williamston.  A proud product of Anderson County public schools, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Furman University.  He later earned a master’s degree in college administration from USC and went on to graduate from law school at the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University.

In addition to private practice, Jamie worked 11 years as a hearing officer with the Employment Security Commission and 6 years with the SC Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation.  After working at McIntosh, Sherard, Sullivan, and Brousseau law firm in Anderson, Jamie made his way to the probate court.

Jamie was appointed Associate Probate Judge of Anderson County in 2018 by the Honorable Martha D. Newton; the longest-serving probate judge in South Carolina and the longest-serving elected official in Anderson County.

Jamie is also an active member of the Probate Judges' Association, the Anderson County Bar Association, and the South Carolina Bar Association.  He is also a member of the Greater Anderson Rotary Club.

Jamie looks to continue his public service in the Probate Court. Probate Court is the one court certain to affect every person in Anderson County at some point in life: from interpreting Last wills and testaments, power of attorney matters, trusts, and estate hearings to mental health hearings. Jamie is committed to transparency, accountability, compassion, integrity, and would be honored to have your vote.
